Pump Lubricant, PTFE

This lubricant was specifically formulated for the lubrication of upper punch heads on tablet making machines.  It is a high viscosity, sticky semi-fluid with the ability to stay where applied.

This lubricant is formulated from synthetic hydrocarbons; it contains no petroleum mineral hydrocarbons and is free from substances listed as hazardous to health in the latest COSHH Regulations.

The lubricant contains sub-micronic particles of PTFE, the most slippery of dry lubricants.  The PTFE particles repel each other, but bond themselves into tiny imperfections in the working surfaces.  This coating is too thin to affect working clearances, but it protects the surfaces from impact and metal to metal contact, reduces wear and tear and prolongs component life.

It is formulated for incidental food contact only, and contact with food should be avoided wherever possible.  Used in this way, this lubricant meets the requirements of The Food Safety Act 1990.
